Tractor Trailer Towing for Stuck Truck in Sisters, OR

Tractor Trailer Tow Truck Makes Recovery in Sisters, Oregon

Nothing beckons quite as strongly as sleep when you need to rest. However, this can quickly become an issue when your mind is not as alert as it normally would be. Gerlock Towing recently assisted with tractor trailer towing for a semi driver whose need to sleep got the better of his truck.

The call for an expert tractor trailer towing company came into the Gerlock Towing dispatcher around 7:45 AM on a Friday morning. The previous night, a truck driver was looking for a safe spot to sleep around Suttle Lake campground in Sisters, Oregon and became stuck. Although this call was further out than some others we receive, our tractor trailer tow team immediately mobilized to respond.

Upon arrival at the premises, our tractor trailer towing crew took stock of the scene. While attempting to turn the semi, the narrow roadway became an obstacle to proceeding. The driver ran over tree stumps, large boulders, and other wilderness debris.

This resulted in the attached trailer becoming compromised and one of the tires being impaled. Under these conditions, it was unsafe for the driver to continue on. Several of the campground visitors noticed the ruckus that ensued and had called the Black Butte Police Department.

Unable to clear the roadway, the driver slept in the cab overnight. Other campground visitors were unable to use the road due to the traffic jam. With frustrations mounting, the driver made a search for “tractor trailer towing near me” the next morning and called Gerlock Towing.

Our tractor trailer towing company arrived with the 35-ton wrecker and a flatbed trailer. First, the trailer was disconnected from the tractor. Due to the tight work space, the boom was used, as well as two close by trees, to gently lift the mangled trailer up and onto the flatbed tow truck.

This revealed the badly damaged chassis, twisted axle, and wheels. Once on the flatbed trailer, this portion was removed from the scene to make way for the rest of the job. Next, the tractor trailer towing company winched the tractor to the heavy duty wrecker for hauling.

Once complete, the campers who had come out to watch clapped and cheered. Gerlock’s tractor trailer towing team is grateful to the Black Butte Police Department, U.S. Forest Service, Deschutes Recreation, and the Jefferson County Sheriff for their help in getting this job done safely.

Details of Tractor Trailer Towing Company Making Recovery in Sisters, Oregon

Gerlock tractor trailer towing company recently assisted a semi driver who became stuck at the Suttle Lake campground in Sisters, Oregon. While looking for a safe spot to sleep that night, the truck driver found himself on a narrowing road. Although the driver attempted to turn around, the path was not wide enough and the driver ran over stumps, boulders, and other obstacles.

Due to this, the tractor and trailer were damaged and the driver could not continue. With the road impassable, other visitors became frustrated. The driver slept in the cab that night and proceeded to call Gerlock for tractor trailer towing in the morning.

Our tractor trailer towing team brought the 35-ton wrecker and a flatbed trailer to complete the job. The tractor trailer tow truck team disconnected the damaged trailer. They used the boom crane and chains to lift the trailer onto the flatbed tow truck. From here, the tractor trailer towing company observed that the chassis, axle, and wheels were all badly damaged. The tractor trailer towing team then winched the tractor to the heavy duty wrecker and hauled it away for repair.
