Heavy Duty Towing
(Full-Time)

Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy-duty tow trucks and recovery equipment safely and professionally.
  • Perform heavy-duty towing and recovery services for commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, buses, motorhomes, and other large vehicles.
  • Perform accident recovery, breakdown towing, winching, uprighting, and other roadside recovery services.
  • Perform basic and advanced rigging, winching, and recovery procedures in accordance with company safety standards.
  • Connect, secure, and tow disabled or damaged vehicles properly.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned trucks and recovery equipment.
  • Complete required logs, inspection reports, towing documentation, and other paperwork accurately.
  • Maintain assigned trucks and equipment in clean, professional condition, and promptly report maintenance or safety concerns.
  • Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, law enforcement, roadside personnel, and team members.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and applicable DOT regulations.
  • Respond to emergency towing and recovery calls as required.
  • Work safely in roadside environments, accident scenes, adverse weather conditions, and other challenging recovery situations.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
  • Heavy-duty towing and recovery experience preferred.
  • Experience operating heavy-duty wreckers and other towing/recovery equipment preferred.
  • Experience with rigging, chains, winching, recovery techniques, and vehicle securement preferred.
  • Ability to pass DOT drug screening and meet DOT physical requirements.
  • Strong work ethic, professionalism, reliability, and dependability.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills are a plus.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding roadside environments.
  • Must be safety-focused and customer-service oriented.

(Part-Time)

This is not a typical call center job. Our Tow Desk supports law enforcement and government agencies, operating 24/7/365. This role requires professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to stay calm and organized in a fast-paced environment.

Gerlock Towing & Heavy Haul is looking for a reliable, professional Heavy Towing / Heavy Haul driver to join our team of experts. 

This is a fast-paced position that requires attention to detail, precise loading and securement, documentation, and compliance with safety regulations.

Duties:

  • Operate heavy-duty tow trucks, recovery equipment, and transport vehicles safely and professionally.
  • Perform heavy-duty towing and recovery services for commercial vehicles, trucks, trailers, buses, motorhomes, and specialized equipment.
  • Transport construction, industrial, and rental equipment, including scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, telehandlers, compact equipment, and other machinery.
  • Operate heavy rollbacks, tractors, lowboy trailers, dovetail trailers, Landoll trailers, and other specialized transport equipment.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload equipment in accordance with DOT regulations and company safety standards.
  • Perform basic rigging, winching, and load securement procedures.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks, trailers, and equipment.
  • Complete required permits, logs, inspection reports, and transportation documentation accurately.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, law enforcement, contractors, and team members.
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and DOT regulations.
  • Respond to emergency recovery and transportation situations when required.

Qualifications: 

  • Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
